Presentation Design lessons from 2024

As we nearly say goodbye to 2024, here are some lessons in Presentation Design I’d like to share:

1. Less is more: minimal design and simple illustrations keep visuals impactful and focused. Focus on one idea per slide using minimal text.
2. Dark mode provides a modern alternative and can even reduce eye strain. Ensure content pops by using contrasting text, images, and elements.
3. Large typography: make words more than just text, make them important visual elements and create a memorable visual hierarchy.
4. Text animation and movement: make your presentations more dynamic. Animations, videos and transitions can help tell a compelling story and allow presenters to focus on their persuasive delivery.
5. Illustrations: instead of stock images use unique and personalised illustrations to tell a story tailored to your outcome.
6. Infographics can make your data visualisations come to life and allow you to focus only on the important information.
